Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Vs Quantum: Portability

Portability is a big deal for me when buying a robotic pool cleaner. I want something lightweight and easy to move around. So, how convenient are the Nautilus CC Plus and Quantum?

Size

Let’s talk about the size first. The Nautilus CC Plus measures 22.2 x 17.6 x 12.9 inches, whereas the Quantum is slightly larger at 22 x 18 x 12.75 inches.

However, I don’t notice much of a difference between them. Both models are compact and easy to store.

Weight is a crucial factor for me, too, since I want a cleaner that I can handle effortlessly. The Nautilus CC Plus weighs just 20.9 pounds, making it lighter than the Quantum, which comes in at 28.7 pounds. So I prefer the Nautilus CC Plus.

Cable Length

When it comes to cable length, both models offer a generous 60 feet. This generous length gives me plenty of reaches to clean my pool without any limitations.

One feature that I find convenient is the anti-tangle swivel cable, which both models have. It prevents the cable from tangling or getting twisted during operation. Thus, I don’t have to stop and manually untangle the cable.

Pool Size And Type

There are different types of pools, such as in-ground and above-ground pools. Hence, you have to consider your pool design when shopping for a robotic cleaner.

The Nautilus CC Plus and the Quantum are designed for in-ground pools up to 50 feet in size. So if you have this pool design, both models can go right.

Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Vs Quantum: Cleaning

Cleaning capabilities are super important when buying a pool cleaner. They determine how well the machine can clean and keep your pool sparkling.

Filter Type

The Nautilus CC Plus utilizes a fine filter, while the Quantum offers both fine and ultra-fine filters. It means Quantum outweighs its competitor as this model can capture even smaller debris particles.

Besides, these two Dolphin cleaners feature top-access filters for easy maintenance. Hence, you can conveniently remove and clean the filters.

Another thing to consider when checking the filter is its design. The Nautilus CC Plus comes with a top-load cartridge filter. Meanwhile, the Quantum has an extra-large top-load basket. In this case, the larger basket of the Quantum allows for more debris storage capacity.

Cleaning Capabilities

The Nautilus CC Plus cleans the pool’s floor and walls. On the other hand, Quantum goes the extra mile by also cleaning the waterline.

If you need a cleaner pool with a spotless waterline, then go for the Quantum. Its comprehensive coverage will keep the dirt at bay.

In addition, both models offer a standard cleaning mode. Hence, you can expect effective and consistent cleaning performance.

Moving to the cleaning cycle, you can let them run continuously in two hours. This duration is generally sufficient to clean most pool sizes thoroughly.

Now, let’s discuss the most critical factor when evaluating the machines’ cleaning power: the suction rate. So which is the winner?

The suction rate refers to the power of drawing water. The higher the rate, the more powerfully the machine can capture debris to clean your pool.

The Nautilus CC Plus has a higher suction rate at 4500 gph. Meanwhile, the rate of its counterpart is 4000 gph. As you can guess, the Nautilus CC Plus’s stronger suction allows for more effective cleaning.

Mobility

The Nautilus CC Plus and Quantum cleaners utilize CleverClean technology. This intelligent navigation system allows the cleaners to move around the pool so they don’t miss a spot.

Number of Brushes

The Nautilus CC Plus has two brushes, while the Quantum has only one. This additional brush enhances the scrubbing action to clean your pool.

In terms of brush type, the Nautilus CC Plus features a combination brush. Hence, it can handle both fine and coarse debris. However, it doesn’t have an active brush.

On the other hand, Quantum has one active brush. Although it’s the standard type, the machine can still powerfully loosen stubborn algae and dirt from the pool surface when the active brush rotates.

Nautilus CC Plus Vs Quantum: Connectivity & Automation

Connectivity and automation features don’t affect the machines’ cleaning performance. But believe me, they can bring your experience to the next level.

The first good news is that the Nautilus CC Plus and Quantum have a weekly timer feature. Hence, you can set a schedule for the cleaners to operate automatically.

Yet, Quantum takes the lead here because it offers an automation mode. So you can set up cleaning programs, then sit down to watch the cleaner navigate your pool.

Please also note that the Nautilus CC Plus and Quantum don’t have a remote control. It means you can’t manually control the machines’ movements.

Moreover, neither of them offers Wi-Fi connectivity and a weekly timer feature. And since they don’t support the MyDolphin Plus App, you can’t manage the cleaners remotely.

Finally, the delay mode is absent in both models. In other words, the cleaners will start their cleaning cycle immediately once activated.
