Dolphin Nautilus CC Vs Triton PS: Portability

I want to buy robotic pool cleaners for convenience, so I love something lightweight and easy to handle. Here is what I experience from using the Nautilus CC and Triton PS.

Size

When it comes to portability, size plays a crucial role. In this case, the Nautilus CC measures about 16.38 x 16.77 x 8.97 inches, making it compact and easy to handle.

On the other hand, the Triton PS measures 22 x 18 x 14 inches. Although this size doesn’t give me any big trouble, it’s larger than the Nautilus CC.

Weight

Weight also affects the portability of a robotic pool cleaner. The Nautilus CC wins this time, too. It weighs around 14 pounds so I can carry it around easily.

In contrast, the Triton PS weighs approximately 29.4 pounds, which is noticeably heavier than its competitor. If you intend to lift the cleaner in and out of your pool frequently, this model won’t be your perfect choice.

Cable Length

The Nautilus CC comes with a 50-foot cable. This cable length provides a decent reach for most pool sizes.

However, the Triton PS takes it further with a 60-foot cable. The additional length can be beneficial if you have a larger pool or need to reach certain areas farther away.

Besides, the Nautilus CC doesn’t have the anti-tangle swivel cable feature, but the Triton PS does. I find this feature helpful because I’ve experienced cable tangling issues before.

This problem repeats when I use the Nautilus CC. Yet, the anti-tangle swivel feature of the Triton PS solves this problem as it prevents the cable from getting twisted during operation. Thus, I don’t have to untangle it manually.

Pool Size And Type

You need to consider your pool type when searching for robotic cleaners. Please note that the cleaners can only fit with a particular pool design.

I have an in-ground pool, so both the Nautilus CC and Triton PS work well for me. Meanwhile, if you use the above-ground design, they don’t clean your pool effectively.

How about the pool size? I notice a considerable difference between these Dolphin cleaners here. The Nautilus CC is suitable for pools up to 33 feet in length. This model will be a perfect fit if you have a small or medium-sized pool.

On the other hand, if you have a larger pool, the Triton PS will be your powerful assistant. It can handle pools up to 50 feet in length.

Dolphin Nautilus CC Vs Triton PS: Cleaning

The most important thing to check when buying a robotic pool cleaner is its cleaning capabilities. Let’s see what the Nautilus CC and Triton PS offer you.

Filter Design

Both the Nautilus CC and Triton PS have a fine filter kit. Hence, they can capture and filter even the smaller debris. It’s great news for keeping my pool clean and clear.

Moreover, both models have convenient top access. It saves me time and effort, as I don’t have to flip the cleaner over to remove the filter.

How about the filter design? The Nautilus CC has a top-load basket with ample space for debris collection. Meanwhile, the Triton PS features an extra-large top-load basket, which means it can hold more debris.

Cleaning Capabilities

There are some similarities between these two models when considering their cleaning capabilities. For example, both operate in standard cleaning mode with a two-hour cleaning mode. This duration is sufficient to clean most pools efficiently.

Plus, these two Dolphin cleaners have a suction rate of 4000 gph, which is quite powerful. This impressive power rate gives me peace of mind knowing that the machines handle my pool effectively.

Despite these similarities, I notice that the cleaning coverage of these cleaners is different. And in this round, the Triton PS wins.

The Nautilus CC focuses on the pool’s floor and walls. The Triton PS also cares for those two areas, but it can even clean the waterline. This comprehensive cleaning ensures that the cleaner can keep every part of your pool spotless.

Mobility

The Nautilus CC features CleverClean technology, while the Triton PS comes with PowerStream. These advanced mobility technologies ensure that the cleaners navigate the pool efficiently.

Number of Brushes

The Nautilus CC has a single standard brush, whereas the Triton PS features two standard brushes. These brushes work diligently to scrub the pool surfaces.

Besides, both models have one active brush. It rotates to dislodge debris and dirt, enhancing the machine’s cleaning performance.

Dolphin Nautilus CC Vs Triton PS: Connectivity & Automation

The Dolphin Nautilus CC and Triton PS share a lot of common features in connectivity and automation.
First, they both offer a weekly time that allows you to set a specific cleaning schedule for your pool.

Next, these two cleaners have an automation mode. Hence, they can operate independently once programmed, making pool maintenance effortless.

However, there are a few features that both of them don’t include. For example, they don’t have a remote control or a smartphone app. They also lack a cycle selector, full-bag indicator, and delay mode.

While it would be convenient to have these additional features, I have found that the features available in both models are sufficient for maintaining a clean pool. The absence of app control doesn’t hinder their effectiveness.
