Dolphin Quantum Vs Sigma: Portability

Portability refers to how easy the machine is to store and handle. In this regard, I prefer the Quantum. Yet, the Sigma still has its own benefits.

Size

The Sigma has dimensions of 23 x 19.5 x 14 inches, whereas the Quantum is slightly smaller at 22 x 18 x 12.75 inches.

Both models are compact. Hence, they don’t take up much storage space when not in use. You can also carry them around easily.

Weight

I find the Quantum to be a breeze to handle. It weighs 28.7 pounds, while its competitor is 35 pounds heavy.

The weight gap here is around six pounds. Yet, I still notice the difference while lifting these machines in and out of my pool. So if you’re looking for a lightweight option, the Quantum will be your new best buddy.

Cable Length

Both models have a 60-foot cable. This cable length provides a good amount of reach for cleaning larger pools.

Plus, I appreciate the anti-tangle swivel cable feature in these cleaners. It ensures the cable doesn’t get twisted or tangled while the cleaner moves around the pool.

Pool Size And Type

Both the Sigma and the Quantum are excellent for in-ground designs. It means you won’t achieve the best cleaning performance when using them for above-ground pools.

While those two Dolphin cleaners can’t fit all pool types, they offer a big advantage regarding pool size. Both of them can handle pools of up to 60 feet in length.

Dolphin Quantum Robot Pool Cleaner

Dolphin Quantum Vs Sigma: Cleaning

The filter design, cleaning coverage, suction rate, and number of brushes can affect the robot’s cleaning ability. I will talk about all of them now!

Filter Type

The filter in a robotic pool cleaner is essential. It captures and removes debris from your pool water, ensuring your pool can stay clean. Thus, always check this component when selecting your pool cleaner.

Both the Sigma and Quantum have fine, ultra-fine filters. They are fantastic for capturing even the tiniest debris in your pool.

Over time, the filters get dirty, and you need to clean them to ensure the optimal performance of the cleaner. Luckily, both the Sigma and Quantum allow you to access the filters from the top. So you can remove and clean them easily.

When it comes to the filter description, the Sigma has a convenient cartridge. Yet, I prefer the extra-large basket of the Quantum. This feature helps the machine collect more debris.

Cleaning Coverage

When cleaning the pool, you have to focus on the floor, walls, and waterline. That’s when the Quantum and Sigma come into play. They offer thorough cleaning coverage. So, you can relax and watch these helpers do their job!

Cleaning Mode

Both models provide efficient cleaning performance because they operate in standard mode. Thus, you can trust them to keep your pool sparkling clean.

Yet, their cleaning cycle is different. The Sigma takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete its task. In contrast, the Quantum finishes a bit faster, in just 2 hours. So, if you need a quicker cleaning session, the Quantum may be the one for you.

Mobility

Mobility in robotic pool cleaners refers to their ability to navigate the pool effectively. The CleverClean technology in the Sigma and Quantum handles this part. So, these robots can maneuver smoothly and reach all the nooks and crannies.

Suction Rate

The suction rate reveals the amount of water that the cleaners can draw in. The higher the rate, the more power the machines have to beat the dirt.

Both the Sigma and Quantum offer a powerful suction rate of 4000 gph. This impressive power ensures effective debris removal from your pool.

Number of Brushes

Let’s talk about brushes! The Sigma has two combined brushes. They excel in tacking different types of algae and dirt.

On the other hand, the Quantum has a standard brush. It also does an excellent job of scrubbing away any grime. Yet, you may appreciate the more brushing options from the Sigma.

However, the Quantum features one active brush. It provides an extra level of scrubbing action. In terms of brushes, both products have unique advantages.

Dolphin Sigma Robot Pool Cleaner

Dolphin Quantum Vs Sigma: Connectivity & Automation

The final part goes to these two products’ connectivity and automation features. Let’s see what you have here!

Both models lack a remote control and delay mode. Plus, since they have only one cleaning cycle, you can’t find the cycle selector in any of them.

Besides, the full-bag indicator is unavailable in these products. Yet, they have a weekly timer, which aids you in controlling the machines. For example, you can use it to set up a fixed cleaning schedule throughout the week.

Furthermore, the Sigma offers fantastic Wi-Fi connectivity. So I can connect it to my home network and control it remotely. Another way to monitor the machine is via the MyDolphin Plus App on my phone.

On the contrary, the Quantum doesn’t have Wi-Fi capabilities and access to the app. But don’t worry! This machine has an automation mode that allows it to navigate your pool seamlessly.
